ศิลปหัตถกรรมเผ่ากะตู : อัตลักษณ์พื้นถิ่นแห่งลาวใต้

Abstract

ชนเผ่ากะตูบ้านกันดอน แขวงเซกอง สาธารณรัฐประชาธิปไตยประชาชนลาว เป็นกลุ่มลาวเทิงที่อาศัยอยู่ที่ราบสูงเนินเขา มีวิถีชีวิต สังคม ประเพณีวัฒนธรรมตามแบบบรรพชนที่สืบทอดกันมา ดำรงชีวิตด้วยการพึ่งพาธรรมชาติ สร้างหัตถกรรมเพื่อใช้สอยและจำหน่ายให้กับนักท่องเที่ยว ได้แก่ เครื่องจักสาน ผ้าทอ งานไม้แกะสลัก และมีหอกว๊านเป็นศูนย์รวมทางจิตวิญญาณซึ่งใช้ประกอบพิธีกรรม โดยมีการประดับประดาตกแต่งด้วยประติมากรรมแกะสลักไม้รูปสัตว์ต่างๆ ที่สร้างขึ้นจากการถ่ายทอดจากคติความเชื่อ ความศรัทธา ความผูกพันต่อการนับถือผีบรรพบุรุษ และสิ่งแวดล้อมในธรรมชาติที่เชื่อว่ามีอำนาจ หัตถกรรมเผ่ากะตูจึงมีอัตลักษณ์ในด้านรูปธรรมซึ่งมีรูปแบบที่เรียบง่าย ใช้รูปทรง ลวดลาย สีสัน ที่คุ้นเคย รูปทรงสอดคล้องกับการใช้งาน ซึ่งอาจไม่ได้คำนึงถึงความงามตามหลักการศิลปะ แต่มีคุณค่าความงามทางจิตใจที่แสดงความเป็นตัวตนของคนชนเผ่ากะตูได้ดี

Katu tribal of Baan Gun Don, Segong, Laos are Laos terng who live on the plateau hill. They share a similarity of lifestyle, society, tradition and culture with what their ancestry have. For example, basketry, textile. It has Hor-kwan as the spiritual center. Hor-kwan is used for rite of their belief. It is decorated with sculpture wooden carved of animals that are made with their have trust, veneration of the ghost and environment of the nature that is believed to have authority. Katu tribal Crafts is known for having basic look. They use shape, pattern, color that relates to how they use, but they don’t think about the beauty of art. Their works have regular look, but it has a value inside like the way they live that shows the local identity of the Katu tribal.
