Abstract

บทความนี้เป็นการนำเสนอความรู้ในงานศิลปกรรมไทยประเภทลายรดน้ำและลายกำมะลอ ซึ่งจัดเป็นงานประณีตศิลป์ที่เป็นงานภูมิปัญญาโดยมีการสร้างสรรค์มาตั้งแต่สมัยอยุธยาสืบทอดมาจนถึงปัจจุบันมีหลักฐานปรากฏอยู่เป็นจำนวนมาก ทั้งที่เขียนขึ้นประดับอาคารสถาปัตยกรรมเครื่องใช้สอยในพระพุทธศาสนาและราชสำนัก นอกจากนี้งานศิลปกรรมประเภทนี้ยังทรงคุณค่าในหลายๆ ด้าน เช่น ด้านสุนทรียศาสตร์ ด้านหลักฐานทางวิชาการด้านการเป็นมรดกทางพุทธศาสนา และด้านการแสดงฐานันดรศักดิ์ในสังคมที่บ่งบอกถึงรสนิยมในการใช้สอยงานศิลปกรรมประเภทนี้ ทั้งการตกแต่งเครื่องราชูปโภค เครื่องใช้ในราชสำนักที่ออกแบบอย่างประณีตแฝงเร้นไปด้วยคติความเชื่ออย่างลึกซึ้ง ดังนั้นจึงจัดเป็นงานที่มีคุณค่าด้านองค์ความรู้ทางเชิงช่างที่มีทักษะระดับสูงสืบทอดมาจนถึงปัจจุบัน
